Best tankless /on demand water heater

The only advice I have is think of it as an appliance. They aren’t super serviceable and are so cheap now that the smart money is on making the whole setup easy to change out like you would with any other appliance.

I constantly see new open box ones on fb marketplace so I’d look there.

Don't use Triangle Tube. I have a combi unit in my shop house for domestic and hydronic heat. Its been a great unit, but they are out of business now, so you cant get parts or warranty. A plumber friend of mine said the supply houses have been liquidating them and not telling buyers.

Triangle Tube ceased business operations in North America in November 2025. My experience has been with Navien and Rheem. Both make good units.

Rinnai...did an 8 gpm propane unit for my cabin...i run it off 100# tank, with an extra for back up.You need a 2 stage regulator. Commercial electric, well water.

I would avoid electric tankless for anything high demand like a shower. For a sink only, electric makes sense. I had a tankless for my 1K sqft 2 bath home. You could not have both showers running at the same time and have a true hot shower. You'd have a lukewarm shower. That tankless required 3- 220v 40a circuits.

Propane tankless will have a much lower electric draw and be waaaaay more efficient

Watch Amazon if you decide to go propane...Got mine for 300 bucks, open box, it was returned. Pretty sure somebody needed a NG one...its worked for years no issues.

Had the rannai NG 12 GPM with recirculating pump for 5 yes now on my house, 3baths never issuue on that one either.

Turns out I needed to make a decision this morning. Glad discussed w wife last night.

This is for a 1 bathroom camp, so not a lot of faucets and such. Went with Ecosmart 24 - so could run shower and kitchen sink simultaneously. That's about it.

Wanted electric - 3 40 amp breakers.

If it's any kind of cold its gonna struggle. My cabin is 2 sinks and shower..I replaced the electric one. I will say my well water is so cold the tank on toilet sweats in the summer, with the ac on, so I sure that was some of the struggle.
