Best Synthetic Layering Vest

Hey All,

Looking for a vest to layer over a merino base and under an outerwear bib/coat set for stand hunting in 32/below temps. I'd prefer synthetic. Most of what I've had my hands on from Sitka, Patagonia, REI etc.. seems like it is either underfilled, or would not be substantial enough to layer over (i.e. the fill would compact down and provide minimal warmth).

I'm a big fan of the north face thermoball.
Just enough warmth that I don't need a jacket during cold Sept-early Oct mornings.
Toss a windbreaker or rain jacket on and I feel good and will overheat if I hike.

You could look at enlightened equip or nunatek, both make climashield (synthetic) filled tops and do customization to the. You could get them to take the sleeves off their jacket/pullover and you’d have exactly what you are looking for.
