Best source for merino wool base layers?

I have the First Lite Red Desert Boxer with one season on them- maybe 20-30 days. Holding up well, fit is good (no binding/pinching/climbing) and even camo in case I decide to hunt in my underwear.

I've had the exact opposite experience with them holding up. Comfy yes. Durable hell no. 50 + bucks for a pair of under wear and they didn't last a season. Never again and I don't think they should be marketed as high quality hunting gear. Maybe sitting around watching a movie in your boxers gear. That they're great for

Frankly, I am having the same issues with FirstLite base layers. The llano Q-zips are separating at the seams after exactly one use . I just returned 2 of them
for exchange. They are being good about the exchange so far.

Merino and boxers don't mix to well together IME. Used several different brands all had holes after one season of use. I use Capilene boxers and Merino for everything else.

Core 4's lasted me two seasons. Merino blend so that could be the difference. Regardless I won't pay 50 bucks for the red deserts again. Felt ripped off there but that's how it goes . It too bad, they are the most comfortable boxers I've ever worn

I ripped my first lite boxers the first trip I used them as well. I never bothered calling them because frankly I won't use them again. I bought two pairs the second one I used on a couple more trips but they got kinda of loose so I've put them in closet and haven't used them in long time. I've put holes in the llano pants as well but nothing serious and I'm still running those. I've been happy with everything else from first lite though and still by from them

Rokslide boxer brief contest? Littlebuf didnt you take the beard contest? You never know you could have two titles. And I'm sure whoever that guy was that posted a pic of himself in cutoff jean shorts would be excited about it too.

i would own a rokslide boxer contest. already had some ideas for this years kill shots any way. kind of an anti any brand kill shot if you know what i mean. if you dont, you'll see...

I got about a year out of my first lite boxers, then the crotch blew out. I did love them, they were very comfortable. Not sure if they're worth the price. I'm on the fence about buying a new pair for this years hunt. I to, Would like to here about some other brands you guys have had sucess with.

I've got several brands, my fav is minus 33, still look new after a lot of use and machine washing and have great ball support also, ( I wasnt really looking for that when I bought em )

2nd the recommendation of minus 33 boxers. They are priced fairly well and for me they are better than the others I have (Smartwool and core 4's). The core 4's are OK, but they are both longer in the thigh and have an elastic waistband that is not quite what I like.

The minus 33's are for me just right as far as thigh length, and the waistband is just right. Also, although I did not really think about it until I read what danarnold wrote above- but they do have good "ball support". And that is a good thing.
