I just checked to see what the shipping was and it gave me a $32 Flat Rate but then I put in my address and it gave me an $18 option to go from NC to NY. Not sure if you saw that option but feel free to PM me if you have any other questions. I can also give you their number that I’ve been using.

I like a quality pack frame for rucking which leaves out the alice pack. I use the molle radio pouches attached up high on the frames and put weight lifting plates in them for moderate load and a cargo net or load shelf to add the bigger plates. I tend to mostly use the MR guide lite but I also have kifaru and SG frames....the MR is fine for me up to around 60#. I can get up to 40# in a radio pouch up real high on the frame. Radio pouch on the frame up high also can work under the pack body for some heavier items when packing for real....

Filbe pack body will fit right on a MR guide lite frame..

^This is good advice on pacing.

Do you have any pictures of your home made weights? I question how well they would stay high enough in the pack bag without a radio pouch. I don't like that the Kifaru (Reckoning) and MR (Beartooth) I've played with didn't have a way to hold the weight high.

Mortar base plate, gross.

Sure.

The foam tunnel is about 15 wide 8 deep and 20 tall. Bottom half has a rolled up furniture blanket so weight is off the pack floor by a foot or so. Weights go in the top. Whole thing goes in the pack. Those are a 10# and 20#. Total I have 2x#20# and 3x10# for a possible total of 70#. The insides are Play sand ($6 a 50# bag) in gallon zip locks - wrap of packing/duct tape - contractor bag - wrap of packing / duct tape. You could buy everything for $25-30.

For just training, I run this on an MR nice frame using a crewcab bag most often. I do drop it into my actual hunting or hiking pack as well so I can train some on the real thing.

Lately, I have been using plastic 1gal jugs filled with sand. Works good so far. 15lb per jug.
