So good info here:

am 13eee.

I used danner for years for hunting but their quality is up and down.

For higher top hunting boots I have a pair of kenetrek mountain extremes that I am loving. I just bought a pair of us insulated crispi idahos. I am about 10 miles into breaking them in and they are very comfortable. I heard great things about Schnee but had to send them back b/c they were too narrow.

For low top hiking type boots I like merrell and asolo in wides.

I find the team at black ovis to be very good at answering questions.

Boot recommendations are like recommendations for what kind of girl to marry. What works for one man probably won't work for the next. The only solution is try out as many as possible, see how they feel, and keep the one that works.

Most of us have already commented on Desk Jockey's thread and there is a ton of info there. I have given up hope and am going to end up getting some custom Whites. I have size 12 5E or 6E and no one even comes close. I have some Bates in 3E which are good for complete waterproof swampy conditions, but don't breathe well. I have been using some New Balance casual hikers for the last 2 years and they suck, but fit me. The Kennetrek Mountains in wide were close and 1shotgear has one pair that Grant was going to give me a great deal on, but I don't want to spend that kind of money for boots that are almost wide enough. I'm assuming your feet aren't as wide as mine so you'd do well to read Desk Jockey's thread to see what other's had good luck with. I have also read for extremely technical that specific models of Scarpa run wide.

AGREE 1000% with freebird134 !

6 or 7 years ago I made my first antelope trip to WY - I'd been wearing LOWA Rangers for work (construction) for several years prior and was thoroughly impressed with the brand so I bought a pair of Tibets for this hunt and took my Rangers which I wore virtually the entire time (I don't think they make them anymore because I ended up with Renegades after getting home with blood soaked Rangers) I'm not an extreme case but when I was younger I wore a 9 "EE" and now wear an 11 "EE or WIDE" but I'm 5'11" and 210 so I beat up my feet just standing on them and these LOWA's have been outstanding "FOR ME" .....

I just bought Caminos and Rangers and love them both, each come in wide as well. I think shoe buy has the caminos in extra wide as well.

Just as a size comparison: I wear 11EE in redwing. Just ordered caminos in 11.5 wide. they fit good for length but they were still too narrow. sent them back and got zamberlan leopards in 11 wide. they fit nicely.

Not to dissuade you but just throwing out that danner makes some freaky wide sizes in its .mil boots. I am not sure how to get them but I have seen 5e and 6e on eBay in acacias and a few other models.
