Best long range scope

There is No BEST...
Figure out the way you want to skin the cat, and go with a optic that fits your desires.
Once you get it, you may decide that you want something different.
If you make a choice based on someone else's "best" it may or may not be "best" for you.

I am looking at a scope 800 yard max 300 win mag. All western and alpine hunting sheep elk deer antelope. Budget of around 1500 weight is not much of an issue

If weight isn’t an issue with that budget I’d take a serious look at the bushnell DMR 3. Bushnell elite Tacs have a pretty dang good reputation for being tough, reliable scopes that hold zero and dial reliably. The glass quality of the new dmr3 is really good. I’m pretty weight conscious (they’re 35-36 oz) As for now my go to is the elite LRHS2 from bushnell that is a GA precision exclusive. My service out of the few that I own have been excellent.
