Best instant camp water heater ?

Looking for a new instant water heater shower for truck camp… any suggestions (good or bad)? I’m tired of using the gravity solar bags

I used a buddies Zodi hot tap shower last year on a hunt and will be buying one for my truck camp this year for elk hunting. It uses D cell batteries for the water pump and one of those green Coleman propane cylinders to heat the water

This isn't instant, but it doesn't require batteries or power either. I always have a full size single propane burner, a big pot and 6 gallon water container so it works great for me (you can take a great hot shower using this system using less than 1.5 gallons, usually only need to top off the pressure once during that time). As an aside - a local park had big scraps of astroturf and a 2' x 3' section is great to stand on when taking a shower.

Several options on Amazon. Just look at propane instant water heaters.
We have one that will run about 5 gpm. We use a barrel for the water with a submersible pump. The heater will heat the water to the point it can be uncomfortable. The pump runs on the generator but you can get them that are 12v
Nothing like a hot shower after a couple hard days of hunting in the snow.

No specific recommendations, except to note that I've read many posts from folks w/propane heaters that were too weak to sufficiently warm up really cold water to the point where a shower felt hot on a cold day.

Make sure you have ample BTUs and flow capacity. Err on the side of extra BTUs!

This isn't instant. I made exactly the same set up myself. With a good burner and a big pot it only takes a few mins to get a gallon or two of water to shower hot temp (100-120). Just keep a thermometer handy so as not to overheat the water. Side advantage is having pressured water for rinsing dishes or other stuff.

If you have problems heating cold water just let it run back into the barrel for a few minutes. No need to suffer with a cold shower.
