I love my hearing, always wear plugs and muffs when shooting.
I have some peltor electronic muffs but they're heavy and bulky to take hunting.
I've carried some plugs, westone, ear peace, and they work ok, just missed a pheasant the other day as it took off behind me (sneaky little birds) and didn't hear him until too late.

What are the pro's and cons of electronic in ear protection?
Are there brands to avoid? I know of Walker but am sure there are tons others, google pops up a bunch.

Anybody have some they love or would recommend? Or some to stay away from?

Thanks a bunch

Howard Lieght impacts are over the ear with normal sound level amplification so you hear as well or better with them on. In the ear that amplify are subject to shorting from sweat and can give loud feedback when adjusting headwear. I have a set that gives feedback sometimes from anchoring my release hand....With over the ear amplification muffs you can turn them off before adjusting hats or talking them off and avoid feedback issues.....loud high pitched squeals scare game. and that noise travels a distance.

I recently purchased Otto in ear. So far I really like them. You don’t have the muff style getting in the way when you shoulder your gun. I’ve used them in the range and have worked great so far. Has two levels of hearing enhancement.

Sound Gear. I have used them for many years and am really happy with performance. Very effective and comfortable.
