There’s a very popular thread on Rokslide, “Cheap Stuff That Works.” So, staying with that theme in 2024 I tried an inexpensive 2 pack of headlamps from Amazon. They proved very good at 12000 Lumens along with a good balance of flood and beam. 3 different settings for both white and red.

The two on the list I’m a fan of are the Capemate and Xero.

The Capemate is light and simple. I’ve never been a fan of getting blood all over the pack and/or down my back and legs. And it kept the cape from squirting out the side like happens on occasion when packing out.
