Best factory 280ai

Looking to pick up another 280ai. I had a kimber Montana, and my brother wanted it bad enough I sold it to him. Now I’m wanting another. What’s the best factory option out there? Or would I be farther ahead to rebarrel a Tikka (if I can find one priced right) and dump it in a stockys carbon or a McMillan stock (again, if I can find one). Looking for a lightweight gun to hunt elk/deer with.

I’ve currently got one of those in 6.5 weatherby RPM, and love the rifle. Just wish it was in 280ai instead.

Best is a very subjective term, but I have a Savage Ultralight Proof Carbon in 280 AI. It’s lightweight, crazy accurate (have three hunting loads around .400 moa), and it’s reasonably priced. There’s better out there, but it’s a good field rifle.
