Hey guys, in the market for a new tent, but going off of a guides salary, I need something economical. Any suggestions? I will be using it for backpack hunting, and also want it to be a two man. Any help would be awesome!

Marmot limelight 2.
I never share a shelter, so I have no first hand experience in this tent. My brother has it. He and my oldest kid fit in it "OK". Not really high tech, so about 4.5+/- on weight. This can be bought on sale for about $180 if you keep your eye out. The bottom seems pretty tough. My brother runs this without a footprint and has no problems.

for a few bucks more. I would look at the tarptent double rainbow.

If you are looking for economical I'd suggest going with a good used tent. Determine exactly what you are willing to spend and the specs you are looking for and keep a diligent eye out in the classifieds here and on other sites like Gear Trade. Some good deals to be had on good second hand tents. Good luck.

I was thinking price wise in the range of 200 - 400. I would be primarily using it just for myself, so I guess rated two person would be all I really need, but I wouldn't mind having on that was comfortable for two, as long as the weight difference wasn't too drastic.

If floorless is an option look at the Mountainsmith Mountain Shelter LT. It can be had lightly used for under $100.

Freestanding copperspur ul2 or if actually for 2 people the copperspur ul3. For more lightweight The tarptent rainshadow 2. If you can get on a team for promotive.com you will save a bunch on the big agnes products.

I got a new MSR Hubba Hubba NX 2 person for $290 on eBay. They're around $400 in stores. Seems like a well built tent so far. 3lb 7oz normal or 2lb 2oz when pitched with just the fly and poles.
