Best damn burger joint.

What are we after before heading in to or coming out of an elk area in each elk state? Well… a great burger IMHO! It’s that simple you wild bohemians, post up “your choice” of an epic burger joint in the elk state(s) you frequent. Here we go.

Groggs Pinnacle Brewing, Helper (Price) Utah, though not exactly in or near Elk country, just some familial ties take me there periodically. Still the best burgers I’ve ever had. Their brisket Mac and cheese is also incredible if your inner toddler has a hankering. 17/10, definitely recommend.

You're not going to believe this, but I manage to stumble into a place selling "world famous" or "worlds best burgers" on almost every hunt. I cant name them as it seems to move around no matter where I go.

I haven’t had a burger thier- but a brisket sandwhich at Colt grill in cottonwood or oak creek Arizona after chasing big bugling Coconino county bulls is hard to beat!!!!

The Denver Beer Co across the street from Steve’s Meat Processing in Arvada, CO has a little burger joint inside.

It’s in a converted Airstream. One of the best burgers I’ve had in Denver.

I hit Taco Bell on my way home after last years solo pack out. Still open at 2:30am. They have “hamburger meat” in the burritos allegedly. It hit the spot after not eating anything except a cliff bar and 6 liters of water for 12+ hours.

Also a drive-in place in Antonito, Colorado where you sit in your vehicle waiting on order. It's been a while so I can't guarantee it's still there. Green chili cheeseburger was named after original owner. Dave or Don Special. Outstanding.

It wasn't part of an elk hunt, but the best burger I've ever had was at a place in Anaheim Lake, BC about 30 years ago. I'm more of a sucker for chicken fried steak during elk hunting. Even better if it comes with breakfast.

Chicken fried steak with white country gravy and over easy eggs with some Tabasco and hash browns and bacon is bordering on the perfect meal.

Ray’s Tavern in Green River Utah is always a stop for us when passing through. It’s a no nonsense fresh burger flame grilled. The bun is small enough that you can get it in your mouth. Also, the hand cut fries are awesome.

Best McD’s I’ve ever had was in salida post a 13 hour packout haha it was the only thing open in a long ways… nothing beats the seasoning of hunger
