Best Concert/Show Experience?

Gotcha all beat. I saw Sturgill Simpson, Wheeler Walker Jr., Tyler Childers, and more in 2018

My favorite concert was a Bad Bunny show I went to last year. The energy in the arena was unbelievable, everyone was singing and dancing the entire time, and his stage presence is wild. He interacted a lot with the crowd and the visuals were really cool. I left wanting to see him again.

Whiskey Myers is the only band I actively try and see when they are local. Always a good time.

Saw them many years ago. They rocked.

Most memorable recently was nickleback at the Houston livestock show and rodeo. Hell of a concert and 2 hours of sold out crowd standing and singing. Most nostalgic, King George when he closed the Houston livestock show and rodeo.

Honorable mention, Cody Johnson. Saw him at Banita Creek Hall before he was known. Saw him after he made it. Great both times.

The spasmatics are a hella good time and worth the price of admission. 80’s cover band that nails multiple singers including prince.

Best ending, Podunk at podunk roadhouse in Willis Texas. Watched my oldest brother absolutely beat a biker twice his size into the middle of the street for telling his wife he’d snap her neck if she accidentally bumped into him again. And I mean beat down well past unconsciousness. lol

I hadn't been to a heavy metal concert since the 80's. I mostly follow country music for the last several years. I found out Metallica was coming to VT in Blacksburg and had to go especially with their connection to VT's football team. It was, by far, the best concert I have ever seen. Those are some talented dudes and still sound great after all these years. Their current tour is the largest tour of any genre in the world for 2025. They were incredible and I'd love to see them again whenever they return to the US. Of course, Enter Sandman was the encore at Blacksburg.

Allison Krause & Union Station at a very small venue in Fallon NV. Seated about 200. At one point they stepped out in front of the stage (no mics) and did an acapella rendition of a gospel tune. I got chills.

The Decemberists at planet bluegrass in Lyons CO. The most beautiful venue I’ve ever seen with the St. Vrain river running down one side of the audience and red rock cliffs hanging over the scene, lit by colored spots. Also saw Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit there. Another rockin show.

I think my favorite of all time was seeing Jackson Browne at the Mt Baker theater in Bellingham WA in 1978. Running on empty tour with David Lindley and Rosemary Butler in the band.

Some notable ones are Larry Fleet, Ryan Bingham, Koe Wetzel, Cody Johnson, and Treaty Oak Revival.

Larry Fleet was probably the best show I’ve ever been to with Cody Johnson as second.

Avett bros are fave of mine but only saw em once - at red rocks with sturgill simpson opening. That was a good show! Seeing them again in august.

Cody Johnson was a great show, probably my favorite guy in country right now and the Mrs really likes him too. We went to a concert last week and she was mentioning how she thought Larry Fleet would be great as we were talking about trying to catch another CoJo show - you've made it so, we must go see him now!

Edit: Larry is playing here when i planned to be in NV chasing muleys.. Piss!

I was in Denver back maybe ~ 8 years ago, I called into a radio show when I was stuck in traffic and I won some tickets to see snoop dogg at red rocks.

It was absolutely awesome.

I have been a big fan of his for a while but I did not expect his live show to be so good. He is 100% just a blue collar dude who made it and his band absolutely rocks. They came back out and played another 4-5 songs for an encore and the place was going nuts. If he comes back to your area definitely would recommend going.

I saw Nickleback at CFD in Cheyenne and people knock that band to their friends but it was a sold out crowd and everyone was in to it.

One of my faves was Tool at Red Rocks. 6th row with a girl so far out of my league I was embarrassed for her to be seen in public with me.

Oh and Tim McGraw when he had one song out at the Adair County Fair in Kentucky was pretty awesome.

The Eagles at The Sphere in Vegas a few months ago. 2 hour show, awesome venue. Decan Fry looks and sounds like his dad Glen.

Some others that were really good shows I've seen:
Shinedown- twice
38 Special- 5 times
Elton John
Scorpions
Motley Crue
Kiss
Sammy Hagar
Nickelback-twice
Bryan Adams

July 2024 - First Aid Kit at Rabbit Rabbit in Asheville, NC. There was a downpour and a thunderstorm delay, but the music and energy were awesome. The light show flashing through the rain will forever be a top memory. It was one of the events that got me back on a healthy path.

Too many to list from the late 90's and early 2000's. If there could have only been one, I'd say the spring concert at the Cow Palace 2004. Metallica in their hometown at that classic venue... The pyrotechnics, the set list... They did a double encore... Got to enjoy with with my best friend since grade school, he was a bassist, I was (am) a drummer. Too much fun.

Saw Turnpike Troubadours at Red Rocks this spring, probably the most fun I’ve had at a concert.
Some of the most fun shows I've ever seen were when they were still playing Mercury, but couldn't quite sell it out on a Thursday night.

Cross Canadian Ragweed at Cain's, several shows from 05-07 at Cain's with Jason Boland. Very different styles, but very good friends and both came out for the other's set.

Drive By Truckers Southern Rock Opera Revisited tour at the House Of Blues in Dallas. So cool to hear that album in order, and the stories. They were clearly having a ton of fun too.
