Best Bullet GR Weight for Black Bear with 300 WM

From 600-700 yds? There wont be a shot opportunity anyway because the damn things never stop movingā€¦:LOL:šŸ˜”
Had one walk out on a rock slide at 600 yards one morning. I was dialed and prone and he stopped for long seconds eating acorns off a single oak in the slide. A 195 eol dropped that one right there. So it can happen. But you are right, mostly they never stop wandering.

everybody can see the life differently and even you can change his mind thus the reason i moved from lead to copper ...
I donā€™t disagree but I have not seen one single study that conclusively convinced me that lead ingestion from wild game killed with lead projectiles have any detrimental effects on humans.

We eat nothing but game meat in our family for 40+ years, killed with lead bullets and not one person has ever had concerns raised at annual medical visits.

Given that, I will continue to use lead bullets as they have proven to be more effective at killing animals in my personal experience.

For clarification, I shoot long range 1000+ at the range very consistantly with the Berger 215gr Berger. Obviously anything longer than 400 yards is not ideal but is very possible with terrain considerations ect. Max COAL is just under the max mag lengeth of the Bergara is roughly 3.70". I don't want to end up having a bear run off into the river ect. Anyone have any experience with the Berger 205 Elite Hunter?

As I understand it, shots greater than 300 yards are somewhat common in the world of hunting Black Bear? I have never hunted them as for the inital question at the begining of the thread. Open to any and all opinions on the matter.
