Best Bow site?

Any recommendations on a good bow site for elk hunting? I'm running an HHA optimizer right now but I'm considering returning to a multipen site. Any thoughts?

I'll second the option! I switched from Spott Hogg Hogg It and while the multi-pin is very similar, the ability to have a single pin just by flipping you thumb is really nice. I'd say the quality is on par with the spott hogg, not sure on durability yet, but don't have any worries as it is a solid site.

Axcel Armourtech or Axcel Accutouch. You can get a multiple pin head for the Accutouch as well.

Spott Hogg's are heavy duty also. I prefer the pins and adjustments of the Axcel's.

I would run a three pin slider. MBG, Spott Hogg and CBE are all excellent. I think the new MBG Vengeance is great sight for the money.

Depends on what you want from your sight and your preferences. I have an Option sight and love it but if you're a guy that never ends up shooting past 60 yards or so it wont do anything more for you than a fixed 5 pin will. Also if you're really wanting to go long range with it you'll have to get it in the 8 pin housing with how ever many pins you want. With my setup (74# 28.5" draw Perfexion) shooting 445 grain arrows my Option 6 using the 8 pin housing bottoms out at 110 yards. For a straight 5 pin sight I really love my Axcel Armortech that lives on my backup bow.

What does your eye see best?
I like the Axcel a lot but right now I'm seeing the AXT Titanium better.

I am a five pin fixed sight fan, using .019 pins.

This is my favorite sight also. I use 30,40,50. I use the dial at the indoor range for 20 and dial every range at the 3d course. Very versatile only down side is using the wrong pin if you switch between fix and floater pin

How does it work? If you dial the top pin, to say 30 yards, are the next 2 pins good at 40 and 50? Assuming you have your pins set at 10 yard intervals.

As the yardage increases so does the pin gap that's why you have to choose a pin

The one thing you need to make sure of with the multi pin sliders is that you have enough clearance between your arrow and the housing when it's bottomed out. Depending on the setup, you can run into issues with high profile vanes when they are shot with the cock vane up hitting the bottom of the housing.

I guess I should have added single pins into the mix too.

Any of the sights where the entire housing moves can create this problem. That's one reason I like my Option sight, the housing stays in one position and the single floating pin runs off the dial and sight tape. I had an HHA on another bow and if it hadn't been for the fact I four fletch my arrows, it would have created a problem when bottomed out.

I have my pins at 20,30,40 and use the bottom pin as the reference slider. for beyond about 43 yards out to 90ish.

here's my 3 pin slider set up for reference in case your wondering.

I have my 30 yard pin smack middle in the housing, and the dial just a tad under maxed from top. bottom pin is the 40 and dial indicator starts at 40 on the tape, and goes till I run outa room and fletch hits sight ring.
