If you like Jester King you should have a look at Austin Beer Works - Pearl Snap (German Pilsner) is my favorite but they do it all...

Do they make anything other than the 4 they have on their site? There are several breweries that make good versions of those style beers locally so I would be hesitant to ship for any, but maybe I'll ask for some as extras the next time I make a JK trade (it's standard practice when trading for limited release beer to throw in a couple of local shelf beer when you ship). I rarely drink a generic style beer anymore as I like tasting the more exotic stuff (for example one I got recently is Donut Panic: a wit beer made with strawberry donuts). I recently traded for some Collective stuff out of Dallas and the one I opened so far was good. It was a Whiskey Mango Petite Sour that tasted like a carbonated Margarita.

Yep, you got it. I was told by my German companions to ask for white or wheat beer. I do have some Blue Moon in the fridge too. It seems a little lighter and more citrus than the Sam Adams Nitro Ale. Shock Top came up on my research also. Thanks.

Another one that bars on the east coast have a lot is a Belgian beer called Hoegaarden (correctly pronounced who-gaar-ten). PA especially had it on tap a lot when I've been out there.

Has anyone ever heard of Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale? My brother-in-law, down in the Pittsburgh area, just told me about it and says that it's now his favorite. It's pretty expensive though, something like $16 for a 4 pack.

Yeah it's pretty good. Here in KY it's a bit cheaper, like $12 for a six pack

They have two offerings. Founders Breakfast Stout which is produced year round. It's a solid coffee Stout and decent value. Then each spring ( April or May ) they have a limited run of Founders Kentucky Breakfast Stout ( KBS for short). It's their regular breakfast stout that is put up on Bourbon barrels and aged. It runs about 5 bucks a bottle from founders. The middle men then get it out to the beer stores and it gets marked up to about 10 bucks a bottle.
It's boozy and thick, has a strong finish and some etoh that lingers at the end. I buy 12 bottles every year drink half and then put the rest up for awhile. It ages very well.

Yep. That's the one I was told about. I'm excited to see it come to bozeman.

My favorite is the Strawberry Wolf Point Wheat from Highlander or Big Sky Brewery's new Shake A Day IPA. Some others on my list would be the Irish Death from Iron Horse, Big Sky Summer Honey, Lewis and Clack Prickly Pear, and Red Lodge Ales Bent Nail IPA. Then again I might be a little subjective since I also work in the beer industry.

Can I get Strawberry Wolf Point in Billings? I go up there every summer and it sounds like something I'd try. For something similar check out Donut Panic from Fiction Brewing here in Denver. They used strawberry donuts in the wheat beer; it's very interesting. Been to Red Lodge Ales once; not bad... Especially after being in the woods for a week.

I'm a fan of Bent Nail IPA for sure.....

But it's awful tough for me to pick a best. I'm a fan of IPAs, and if I had to pick now based on my experiences I'd say Surly Brewing "Todd the Axe Man" is the best IPA i've had.. But sometimes you can't beat a cold Corona with lime either. Depends on the mood for me.

Yes you can find Highlander beer in Billings. Which is good timing because the Strawberry Wheat is there summer seasonal!

Had a draft Hefeweizen at a local German restaurant that was my favorite yet. May have had something to do with the good food too lol. Shiner Bock is my favorite to drink regularly though.

When I could still drink them:

Dogfish 90 IPA
Russian River Blind Pig
Sierra Nevada Torpedo

I don't know if any of you guys have noticed, OR I became a pussy. But I can't drink the heavy hopped micros anymore it seems like I get sick every time, like one pint and the next day I feel like I was a kid drinking a case. Tears my stomach up.

Anyway, I must be allergic to something they are putting in these things.

Cheers !
