Just in case anyone is reading through this list in the future and interested in a spot and stalk black bear hunt with a high success rate, I'd recommend Lockwood Hunting Services in Northern California.
They have access to some gigantic private ranches with low hunting pressure.
They guided me to multiple bears, I got my first bear with them, only $6,500, includes lodging and food and caping and field dressing for a 5 day hunt.
