Best arizona vaca w/ wife in arizona for a few days?

So wanna get an additional bonus point in arizona for elk and am thinking of doing a 3 day er... Wanna finish the hunters safety class and treat the wife for a couple days while we are there. So what cities should i look at for doing this. Thinking of a nice relaxing resort to stay at. Fire away..

You might check out Sedona, very cool place although semi over run with hippies...What time of year are you planning on going thats going to really dictate which cities are "nice"

I like Payson AZ and north of there are a couple really small towns, Pine and Strawberry with real cool country. Payson has everything you need from grocery stores to fast food. Flagstaff is another option and its an even bigger city than Payson.

Sedona is nice. Also close enough for a run to the Grand Canyon. You would not want to miss that if you have not seen it.

We recently (over memorial day weekend) spent some time in Tucson, Az. The Westin there has a very highly rated spa and the wife gave it two thumbs up. Sedona is also a neat place and is on the way from Phoenix to the Grand Canyon.

Im not sure how far new mesa is to your venture. I remember going there a few years back to see the cliff dwellings and it was an awesome place!
