Best all around Caliber??

Best caliber? Might as well ask what the best pickup is, long bed vs short bed and what the best tires are to put on it..

300 isnt an everything rifle IMO.

I'll always have a 243 nearby. Though one of the manbun calibers or a 308/708 wouldnt be a bad way to fly either.

.270. Won't blow the living $hit out of an antelope with 100 grain bullets but you can go up to 150 grain or better now for larger animals. I like the range of bullet sizes.

Of the choices you listed in the original post I would go with a 300WSM-but that’s just me. I am happy with my Superlite in 300WSM. I would not go that route if you eliminate the “out west” option however.

I agree with the consensus in that you’ve already got what you need. So what do you want? I’d go big or small for a gun that I just want. Say a 338 edge or a 22creed. I’ve got the 6.5 creed and prc. Use my prc for pretty much everything, but if it’s large game and not a lot of hiking I take my 300 rum. With its weight and a decent brake it kicks like the creed.

7mm08 and 25 creed are my favorite do it all cartridges.

A 7mm08 with a 160gr TMK could probably kill an elephant.

The new .25 TMK offeringscoming from Sierra make that the best "New" thing on the market IMO.

I live in Texas but hunt out west as well. If you had to pick a caliber to do it all everything from Texas whitetail to Bull elk what would you choose? 308, 7mm-08, 7mmPRC, 30-06, 300wsm? ( i already have a 6.5cm, 6.5prc, 270. Just have the itch to buy a new rifle. I don't Wana hear save your money and buy more ammo for the guns I have lol)
Your 6.5PRC does exactly what you are asking. If you just want to buy something new, then I would try a 22 Creed, a 6 Creed, or a 6UM.
