Best 10x binos for around $1,000

I’m really happy with the Zeiss conquest. Compared them with swaros in the field. Obviously not as nice but for the money they’re worth every penny
F'Real'Do! When I upgraded from some Vortex DB's 10x42.. to the ZEISS conquest HD 10x42? We're talking a very noticeable order-of-magnitude better!

The contrast, and especially the Depth-of-Field in the FOV!
Can't discount what that Depth-of-Field does for you!

Had the Vortex Vultures as my firs dip into 15s. OMG the narowness of the Depth-of-Field was VERY apparent in difference when looking thru the Vultures vs the Zeiss. Because of the narrow Depth-of-Field in the FOV.... ya end up having to fuss a lot more with the focus ring during the act of glassing. Whereas with the nicer binos... the Depth-of-Field (as well as everything else) shows you objects in decent focus for even more distance in front of and behind the object you initially focused upon. THAT.. is the time saver I mentioned. You'd have to experience going from the one to the other to fully appreciate what I'm trying to convey here.

my 10x42 conquest HD had the worst depth of focus of any binos I can recall.. They did have a very solid image quality when focused but a guy had to be on that focus wheel non-stop.

Under 1k, trinovids or monarch HG seem good.

If your a rifle hunter I would get the leica rangefinder binos.

I could never go back to a separate range finder and binos. I’ll sacrifice glass quality to have the ability to range much easier

I heard Zeiss was going out of business, don’t know if it’s true but definitely a consideration

Buy yourself a used pair of Swarovski binoculars in the Optics Classifieds here on Rokslide. You can buy solid, excellent condition 10X42 SLC's in that $1,000 + range. Hold out for HD glass if you can find some later model SLC's. Put them on a tripod and you're capacity to pick out game at distance will increase significantly. The Kowa Genesis binoculars in 10.5X44 are exceptional.

Maybe I'm biased because I'm a Maven fan boy, but I just dont think anything in that price range can do what the Maven B series can do.

Since no one mentioned them yet, I think the Leica Trinovid changed my life. They’re about $1050 and I couldn’t be happier with mine. Worth looking at if you haven’t checked them out.

That’s my pick also in that price range 100%. If you are talking NEW.

I'd also recommend upgrading your 10x first and waiting for a pair of 10x42 swaro slc's on rokslide classifieds. They will run around 1000 possibly less, which is a great buy for what you get. I've had mine for around 8 years and it's made a huge difference. Also, use the 10x42 on a tripod as much as you can.

This. Get used swaros or the Kowa Genesis. Kowa is probably the best glass for dollar out there.
