Personally I'd shoot what's known to perform, if that extra 5 grains is making or breaking it for ya you should have built a 338

How much difference in nose cavity depth is there between the two?

215 = .409 depth using .034 gauge
220 = .358 depth using .032 gauge
I did find a few 220’s that would take the .033 as well, so some variance but the majority I checked maxed at .032. none of the 215’s would take a .035 gauge all .033 - .034. Depths were very consistent on both.
I‘ve had them for since I started this thread, have yet to shoot them.Any updates? Have these shown up, has anyone tested them or shot game with them?
Good morningSorry guys, I handled them and they were part of the discussion in a meeting with Berger at Shot, But I actually have not measured this yet. The 215 is .400" and I know we will loose a bit, but I am hoping not much. The 7mm / 195's are .300" and I didn't feel they worked well on elk. But then no 7mm does compared to a 30.
EDIT to add: I do have some coming and we will be testing for terminal performance as well as our usual testing.
I made a few kills with them last year with good results but I'm probably going to run the 225 eldms instead.Any updates to this yet? I was able to get my hand on 500 and would be very interested at trying on Elk.
Have gotten 2 into bulls so far this year. Daughter has a NM cow tag to fill in Dec and planning in using the same combo…Any new updates?
