Looking at either purchasing a Bergara Ridge Carbon or Christensen Arms Mesa FFT in a 7 prc. Really like the CA Mesa FFT but worried about barrel heating up too fast. Anyone have any experience with either gun?

Great info thank you! I went and looked at one today. Like you mentioned the stock is very flexible. But add an AG composites stock and I think it would be awesome! Any experience with the 6.5 prc on elk?

I shot a big bodied bull with it this fall. It soaked up 3 bullets and covered about 100 yards before tipping over. I've seen elk die a lot faster but I'd use it again.

Have a ton of experience with Bergaras and all of them have been great. QC is and customer service is definitely top notch

I'm looking at a similar choice and Bergara seems to be more popular. CA just might be more of a niche gun, where all my local gun stores carry Bergara.

I'd bet that the bore of a ridge carbon barrel heats up faster than that of a Mesa steel barrel. Being insulated by carbon so you dont feel it as much doesn't mean the bore isn't getting hot faster.
