Snagged another Bergara B-14 to set up for SE Alaska hunting. After mulling over a few options, my FFL ordered me the wilderness Ridge in .308 with an 18 inch barrel and factory threaded barrel/brake.
I went with an EGW 1 piece 0MOA pic rail, Warne Mountaintech rings (side note on that, unfortunately ended up with an out of spec set of rings. Contacted Warne and they had a new set in the mail same day to replace the out of spec ones. First time I’ve had that happen with their rings and they made it right quickly. Backup rings on it until the new ones get here), and a vortex viper 2.5-10x44 for optics.
Decided on a 50/200 yd zero given the terrain for hunting blacktail here. Barely any recoil, decent group at 50 and consistent impacts on a small steel torso at 200. With the shorter barrel, I’ll have an easier time moving it through the thick brush here and getting it up for quick shots. Federal fusion 165gr for ammo.
