Bergara action screw torque

Got my sons HMR 6.5 in the other day. Decided to take the action out of the stock to check the bedding blocks for overspray (which of course they’re covered in). I see where bergara says 55 inlbs. I got all the way to 80 inlbs on the front action screw and 120 inlbs on the rear screw before they broke loose. Anyone else seems this? Now the real question is what do I torque them too after I clean the bedding blocks?

65in/lbs is always my go to. Could start there and see how it shoots

Paint on the bedding blocks. Do the screw holes look normal on the bottom metal? Looks like the screws were torqued so much they ate into the aluminum

Does it seem odd these were so high? I know inconsistencies on factory rifles happen but that seems like a lot

Does seem high but could of had some sort of glue/ debris on the threads. Id shoot it at 55in lbs or 65 in lbs and go from there.
