I like this one. Small, light, effective. It's the only thing I have used to maintain the edge over the last few years. Been through 2 bulls, a few deer and some hogs. Gets it shaving sharp quickly (and I'm no expert). Fits in my kill kit.

I love mine. Stays super sharp, good handle, easy to get right next to the bones while quartering, backstraps, etc. I keep mine in the sheath, but don't put it on my belt, so it works fine for me.

That's the one I use as well. Use it on my hunting knives and my fillet knives. Works great

Let me see what type of materials I have left. I sold a bunch of them back in Oct/Nov. I'll PM you with details.

I don't get the hate for the factory sheath. It does the job just fine. I didn't like the duck bill opening on mine so I hit it with a heat gun and made it sit a bit flatter. Works great and is a thinner profile then before. I recently acquired a bm altitude that will stay on the bino harness.

I have that knife…its an easy project to make a Kydex sheath, oven, bend, cool, trim and then rivet or chicago screws.

Fwiw, I had to buff out the metal bumps on the handle so they didnt snag my gloves

Me neither, it seems to do the job just fine for me.

Overall I really like the knife. It seems to lose an edge a tad fast but is also easy to touch up.

The Work Sharp Field Sharpener is all I use. If you touch it up with the ceramic rod and leather strop periodically, it will be back to shaving sharp no time.

This is what I use for touch-ups in the field. It's just a round ceramic rod with a handle. I carry one in each of my hunting packs so I always have one. The real sharpening is done at home and I've found that touch ups are all that's needed in the field unless something bad really happens to the blade like dropping a knife or something along those lines.
Benchmade mini-Barrage 2.9" blade for comparison. I was working on an elk with a friend I shot one time and he had one of my Ruana's in his hand and was using it. He needed to put the knife down and I don't know what he was thinking but he jabbed the knife into the frozen snow covered ground and thought that would be a good place to put it out of the way. OH MY! When we got back to the camper that night about 7:00 PM I had to use my Lansky system on the blade as you can imagine stabbing it into the ground was not good for it.

Those of you who are touching up the blade in the field, are you still sending the knife back for warranty sharpening as well?
I have one Benchmade shown above and I do not send it back for sharpening. In fact when I have had to send it in for some other maintenance (It's a spring assisted opener.) I have requested them to not touch the blade. They do a pretty good edge on their knives but I can do them better. I use the Lansky Guide Rod system with the Super C Clamp.

Anybody use this knife? I’ve read terrible things about the sheath so mostly wondering if you’ve purchased one recently, have you had any issues? Thanks
Looks like Benchmade makes a Kydex Sheath for this knife in addtion to the leather sheath. My bad I see the Benchmade Kydex sheath now.
