Saw that. How can a company be so stupid? I hope their customer base walks and they fold. Serves them right.... I have no problem with them destroying guns that are deemed to be destroyed part of a criminal process or what not IF they were recycling the steel into knives, it clearly this isn’t the case.....

Why did the other Benchmade thread from yesterday get locked?

I don't usually jump on the torch and pitchfork bandwagon but IMO the whole Yeti and Sitka outrage that happened doesn't even compare to this one. Benchmade directly donating solely to anti-gun Democrats over multiple elections makes a pretty clear statement.

I am on the same page, I didn’t see the other thread. Is Benchmade a sponsor here?

It was quickly degrading into a pissing match between, "I'm Outraged" and "I'm outraged you're outraged." There are plenty of other places on the internet to do that, Rokslide isn't one.

As long as this thread doesn't derail into "Outrage" fest, it can run its course. I can't speak for Ryan or Robby.

To answer the question is Benchmade a sponsor, nope. You can check out the list of sponsors here - https://www.rokslide.com/sponsors/

A few observations from me, it probably wasnt the first time they helped the police amd probably wont be the last, i think its poor judgement on the plolice department to post something like that knowing there could be fall back. Im sure the pd didn’t mean harm by it, considering bencmard does things to help the local pd for the better, good for benchmade.

As far as their political affiliation i feels its hard for anyone to be truly left or right without disagreeing with some-part of one side or another. Ill wait longer before making judgement, see how some of it plays out.

They donated money to a political party that does not support the 2nd amendment, does not support freedom of speech unless THEY are talking, wants open borders to flood our country with illegals that do nothing but bring high crime rates and illnesses while sending money back to their home country, and, IF THATS NOT ENOUGH, is perfectly fine killing babies up until the very second they exit the womb....

How much longer do you need?????
I’ll wait.......

I guess Benchmade is full of terrible business folks...actively alienating the very demographic that buys their products.... I guess bankruptcy is close behind with the onslaught of boycotts!

Why destroy the guns in the first place? There are plenty of citizens who are probably interested in buying them and are legally able to. Why not auction them off and take the proceedings to fund other things? That is clearly a debate for another forum but the fact that Benchmade took part in this doesn't put them in the best light, in my opinion. As far as the contributions made to Democraps...that tells me everything I need to know about where Benchmade stands.

Trust me when I tell you that not even the most desperate militia in the most depressed third world country would want the guns that are slated to be destroyed at a police station. Are there exceptions? Yep, but your odds are better at winning the power ball than finding a desirable gun in a police evidence locker or property lock up.

I'm sure that is true...I honestly don't know anything about police auctions and what kind of shape things are in once they are seized. I guess it was more of a rhetorical question than anything.

I have been at the gun shop when the cops bring in carts full of guns to trade for newer law enforcement grade weapons....some of those guns were real nice and I purchased a few. All were confiscations and many of those were from game law violations and brought in by KDWP officers.

I’m not outraged and don’t expect everyone to boycott Benchmade. I’m really not even upset that they destroyed firearms for a PD, it’s actually nice to see a company helping out the PD, especially if the donated their time and equipment. I understand why the guns were destroyed. In many cases a judge orders them destroyed when they were evidence in a crime. The PD unfortunately has to worry about liability and bad PR if they sold firearms that were then used in the commission of a crime. Heads would roll if that happened and the media would be relentless.

My issue is supporting anti second amendment democrats. In my opinion that party has gone off the rails far left and literally embraces socialism. Yes, I also have a problem with the anti public land republicans.

Benchmade manufactures “gear”, which is why I posted the article. When making a gear purchase decision, not supporting a company that actively participates in a movement I strongly disagree with is important.

I worked in a steel mill that used to melt guns and drugs for the police department. Most were compete junk, used in murders, or had serial numbers removed. These are not guns you want back into the public for paperwork purposes. You can't easily reserial number a gun. In our case we had no choice but to toss them in the furnace.

It’s a shame judges don’t order PD’s to return stolen crime guns back to their original owners.

If your guns , bows were stolen would you be ok if the police did not return it to you after case had been fully adjudicated?
