Ok, bought the Gooloo Gp4000 and A5. Grok mentioned trying the heavy duty clamps. What say ye, Rokslide.

I sometimes need to jump dead tractors, heavier trucks, etc. I know I went with heavier duty jumper cables for just such a thing.

I would if there’s an option for them. I have a brand name pack of that size and jumping the ol JD 3020 sometimes they will blow off trying to turn that ancient diesel. Heavier duty clamps never a bad thing unless you’re working with tight spaces.

I have found if I disconnect the negative for a bit, give it a scrub or two with the terminal brightner, it helps. Especially if I haven't been diligent and needed it for a long while or just cranked it to run around.

Yeah that makes sense. But for me it goes back to why not getting the beefiest you can buy to avoid issues like that at all? Those packs have saved the day for me many a time.

Good clamps and a good connection is important.

I have an old set of jumper cables I keep in my truck. They are 6ga or might even be 4ga copper- heavy suckers.

I have had a few cases where someone was trying to jump their vehicle and it didn't work with their cheap Cables, then we switched it with mine and the vehicle started.

I've had the same experience. It's amazing how little copper wire it under that thick insulation on cheap jumper cables. If your looking for some heavy duty cables I made my own out of some 2 ga red/black welding lead cable I never used on a stick welder I was working on. Heavy duty but not over the top heavy.
