Bear poaching in AK on cnn.com

While any poaching incident is deplorable, there is a much bigger concern here. This story isn't posted on CNN.com because they care much about poaching - they want to eliminate bear hunting, period. Then they want to eliminate all hunting, period. Hunters take note...

Yep, there is definitely ulterior motive here. 90% of folks don't know a thing about bear hunting, but if they read this article, it is now the only thing they know about bear hunting and it influences their perception of it in a negative light.

Of course, that's why it was written the way it was and the file picture is what it is.

Maybe we should make friends with the three contributors to that story, we'd probably be able to sway them to the pro hunting side.....;)

Yep^ This is the selected reporting designed to shape public opinions. When was the last time CNN posted a legit hunting story....the benefits of hunting?

Or posted a positive story where a legal gun owner positively defended themself with a firearm- NEVER. There are literally examples of this almost every day in America...CNN just doesn't want this critical fact known as it doesn't suit their agenda. They only post the stories of bat shit crazy lunatics shooting up gun free zones....shaping public opinion that 'guns are bad'

No CNN...this guy is definitely NOT a "Hunter" but a "Poacher"....quit trying to paint legit hunters in a bad light.

SCI's commentary on this incident;
POACHING IS NOT HUNTING

The ugly truth of poaching came to light in Alaska where a father and son pled guilty to poaching a mother black bear and her cubs in their den.

“We hunter-conservationists at Safari Club International abhor wildlife crime and poaching,” said SCI President Paul Babaz. “We fully support the apprehension, prosecution and conviction of wildlife criminals and lend our support to state and federal wildlife management agencies whenever possible.”

Babaz stressed that anti-hunters often deliberately confuse the non-hunting public by lumping trophy hunter-conservationists with criminal poachers. For example, the headline on a New York Times article about this poaching incident stated: “Alaska Hunter Who Killed Cubs in Bear Den Gets 3 Months in Jail.”

“Both poachers involved in the illegal killing of the bears are criminals, not hunters, as the headline states,” Babaz explained.
