Battery jumper pack

The takeaway is that every single one of these is a lithium pack, a plastic case, and a short pair of jumper cables that plugs into it. It probably doesn't matter which you get. Lithium ion cells can push massive amps, period. They're perfect for the task, no matter what brand wraps plastic around them. It's like reading reviews of 21-degree framing nails. A 0.131" nail from vendor A is going to work the same as from vendor B.

NOCO GBX155 4250 peak amps, cranks my 7.3L Powerstroke dead cold in 10°F no sweat, zero extras like compressors. $300 on Amazon, tough as nails, USB ports for phone topups. For HD diesel, grab 2000 peak amps minimum skip cheapos under 1500. Mine's saved my ass 20 times.

I had a Noco GB70 for 8ish years. Did at least a couple hundred jumps. Tractors in the cold, diesel pickups...

Replaced it with another one and stuck it in the wife's Subaru, it's still going.

I second the Noco GBX 155. It has never let me down and has come in handy far more than I thought it would. High quality stuff from Noco

I greatly prefer the softer plastic Metabo uses to the hard plastic on the Grip Rite nails.

These kind of threads cost me money. 😆 But I need one, so I’ll pick between the 2 recommended most. About a month ago, I had to jump my diesel at home, so I had another vehicle handy. I have about 3 pair of cables between home/vehicles, and after the first two wouldn’t do it, the third pair did. What was different about the third? Larger cable, and SIGNIFICANTLY stronger clamps. So if anyone has compared the clamps of the Nolo and the GooLoo, which has the stronger clamps? You know you just have a thin bar nowadays and not a big battery post to clamp to.

I have the Hulkman 85 that Project Farm tested the first time a while ago. It's been great, holds a charge, has been enough to jump a 7.3l PS, and an old 12v Cummins, a tractor, and several cars.

I think if you look at the top few and pick one on sale you'll be fine.

Amazon descriptions sound deceiving in that an $89 GooLoo is good for a 10L diesel, yet the $300 Noco is good for up to only 7L diesel. What I am I missing.

I went looking for actual tests. Project Farm on u tube did a pretty realistic test, so I bought one of the best he tested at the time.

Manufacturers can claim whatever they want.

From the look of that pic, have you a seen a new battery in the last decade? I’m talking what is visible without removing covers. I could flag down another vehicle quicker than getting to the big posts.
They're about 3 years old, and see a lot of dust. Yay prairie. I'm pissed at how dirty under hood is.

I removed nothing to see the posts.

NOCO BOOST GB150. It will jump my F350 no problem. I have used it to jump escalators and 100 hp Tractors no problem. It has a nice voltage readout as well that allows you to diagnose stuff. My F350 need a jump and the display powered down because of voltage afterwards. Hooked up the NOCO and I was getting voltage from the alternator just fine. The idiots that replaced my windshield had loosened up the battery bus bar. Easy fix great tool and hold the charge for months no problem.
