Edgestar & Kegco are good. Do you want a single, double, or triple tap? Look for a kegerator with a good kit with the tower, tap(s), co2 tank, lines, etc. I Iike digital controls in the front so they are easy to see & change. I also recommend an external thermometer so you can see the temp without opening the door. You'll want a line cleaning kit. Lots of good info available on youtube.
It’s always fun, because but really think about how much beer you consume and the style you like. My dad had a double tap at his house for years and eventually pulled them as he and his friends liked different beers and they would get tired of what was on tap before the keg kicked. Also the beers would lose freshness over the few weeks on tap. But that may have had to do with equipment as well.
Also make sure you have a good local shop that will order you unique kegs of you like to change it up. Not all shops like to help with that.
He now has a garage fridge loaded with a slew of different beers year round and he seems to enjoy that more as he can drink what fits the mood. If you are a die hard silver bullet 24/7 kind of guy, then a ongoing tap of light lager might do just fine.
