Basemap….. anyone else having tech issues?

Yes!

Lots of recent issues. App was not functional. Had to remove it and reinstall it. Lost all of my offline maps in the process.

Have had glitchy functionality since. Both on my iPad and iPhone.

Lost trust in the app and not happy about it.

Mine was locking up all summer. Reported it several times; the last time I was told if I was using the App in 3D and closed it a lockup was occurring. They were working to address it, supposedly.

There was an issue in early July with our iOS release but we have pushed several since then and any major issues appear to be resolved. Just make sure you are on the latest release in app store.

Had this exact same issue in July, had to delete and re-install, lost all maps. Has worked pretty well since I reinstalled it. That said, I’ve also noticed most waypoints all have the same basic logo and none of the individualized logos or colors show up on the map.

yeah I dumped my app and reloaded it, lost my offline maps, had to download them all again.

Now im noticing the Active fire layer is not working.
 
From what I understand from OP it sounds like the app was becoming unresponsive, possibly crashing, while in poor service areas. So basically going in and out of service.

I'll head out to my local nfs and try to replicate so we can diagnose and fix. In the meantime, my suggestion is to put the app in offline mode if you are in an a coverage area like this.

This will force the app to act as though there is no signal, even though your phone may get signal on and off.

Several times the app would not even open… no way to place it in Offline.

I think if it becomes unresponsive you should be able to do the following: close the app, put your phone in airplane mode and then reopen the app. Then you should be able to put it in Offline mode. Not positive on this though, so I'll try to replicate today.

I just noticed even when on WiFi/network the app takes about 5 seconds to show I have a pro account every time I open it. I go into the account and watch it populate. I have zero service where I hunt so I can’t be on the network.

Thanks for giving us the bug report, that will help immensely with diagnosing the issue! The way it generally works is your account status is saved to a local record on your device. That way once you go offline, we still know your account status.

I might ask our support team to bug you to submit one more report tomorrow where you select the recording option for submitting a bug and record from going online to offline mode. That'll give us a little more detail into the state of calls before and after. Or if you have a moment to do that please do. The more info the better.

Looks like we had one other user report this issue over the weekend so doesn't appear to be a widespread issue. However anyone reading this might be wise to go offline at home to make sure you aren't impacted by this.

Did confirm this works. Just make sure the app is closed not just backgrounded.
