Looking for some recommendations for an outfitter for barren ground caribou. Open to all locations and would like to take the trip in 2026 or 2027. Thanks

I had great trip this fall with Jonah's Alasken Outfitters (Jonah Stewart) and would highly recommend them.

Would love to hear more about it. He has great references but caribou doesn't seem like his main focus.

Rod Schuh at R &R Guide service/Hoodo Lodge out on the peninsula near Cold Bay. Big ass caribou and an amazing hunt. Not cheap though.

Rod is hard to beat. I think this link will work here. It’s a story about my hunt with him.

I was targeting caribou, but I was fortunate to also shoot a grizzly. We were really in the caribou. We probably saw 50-100 shooter bulls each day.
For how many days? What’s a “shooter”? Let’s see the bull you got, please. Glad you had an awesome hunt! What dates did you hunt?

I hunted 4 days. As far as 'shooters' go, this was my first caribou hunt so your definition would probably be different, but I was basing that on what my guide was telling me. Suffice to say that we saw many large antlered caribou. I hunter the last week of August.

Hijacking this thread - does anyone know of a caribou transporter out of Cold Bay or somewhere in that area? I'd like to hunt that area but I can't afford guide prices.
