Barrel twist

I have several older TC Encore barrels. How does one determine their twist rate? I tried looking online but am not so sure that the information is reliable.

Run a cleaning rod down the barrel with a tight fitting patch. Put a sharpie mark on top of the rod and push it through the barrel. Measure how far it takes to do a full rotation and there's your barrel twist. Might have to repeat the test a couple times to get an accurate measurement.
