Barrel cleaning…Hornady podcast

I personally don't give a ratsazz what anyone's published BC's are. I first go to Bryan Litz to see what he has to say about a specific BC, then go shoot to verify.

You didn’t answer the question- why aren’t you mad at Nosler for not finding out that plastic tips were deforming in flight and reducing BC before Hornday did?

Because a Nosler accubond has always performed 100% as advertised for me, so there's no need to question anything about that particular bullet.

So it’s not anything about the rant you posted, just that you don’t like Hornday?

Call it what you want, my opinion of Steve Hornady is that he sucks for mandating the jab, he got called on it, and backtracked (thank God). Therefore my opinion on Hornady is negative. How's that?

You should just preface all subsequent hornady rant posts with that, will clear things up from jump street.

That still has zero bearing on the fact hornady discovered the deformed tips once they purchased and began testing with a doppler radar.

And I won't change my opinion that a product should be tested thoroughly before hitting the market. Steve Hornady is a coward, and shooters everywhere were duped by these melting tips until the mistake was caught. These bullets were re-marketed with proper tips evidently, and customers were hit with a much more expensive "fix". What a surprise.

For another subject, but I have zero respect for anyone, or any entity that mandated the untested Covid jab. It ruined people's careers, lives, and even health in some situations. That's all I have to say about that......

Your opinion is biased. So there's that.

Funny. Litz's #'s show ELDs with higher BCs than the Amax's they replaced. And without having seen them, i'd bet the BC degrades at further distance/lower velocity more on the Amax in the AB custom curves (as the tips melt).

This is part 1 of a 2 part series I thought some might find interesting. I know we have some people who are anti-clean and it’s nice to hear some thoughts from Hornady testing.

The last ~6 minutes is good.
I enjoy listening to their data driven suggestions.

Honest at least. I’m just not sure why you can’t keep it to “I don’t like Hornady” versus try to make it that their products are a problem.

Yet everyone who's every shot both will attest to the fact that they have identical performance on game animals.

Which has what to do with melting tips? I don't recall anyone saying the entire tip disappeared, especially not at normal hunting distances.

That's a fair assessment. But not sure I ever said their products are a problem. I said their melting tips were a joke and explained why.

I don't really care for how pushy their podcast is and I think it's just another marketing avenue for them honestly. If I wanted that, I'd turn on a 24hr news channel. Just my take though.

Only that these supposed "melting tips" had no bearing whatsoever on effectiveness in killing game animals. Most people have zero clues about BC's, and don't care. They care about killing what they're shooting at. Apparently there's no difference in the Amax and ELDM in that regard.

It's not a joke though. It's reality
And if Hornady hadn't come out with this information, 99% of shooters/hunters would have never known the difference. Nobody anywhere at any time questioned Amax performance before their big melting tip announcement.

I agree it's not a well done podcast. It would be good for someone at Hornady to capture the high points and redo it. Otherwise, it's a lot of rambling ... unusual. Maybe they'll split it up.
