Banish backcountry review

I would say mine "hunting" safe. I wouldn't do a range day with it with no ear pro.

Depending on caliber (5.56 or 6mm), l'll take my heavier OCL polonium 556 all day long over my Backcountry or Banish 30 Gold. It's significantly quieter for 223, however the 30 Gold is "good" compared to others I've heard. Not a good value.

Brand new Tikka T3x 6.5 PRC with the Banish Backcountry. I’m breaking it in.

Something to consider. Cutting barrels back to 16-18” is asking the can to suppress a lot of blast. I had this 6.5 PRC cut back to 22” and threaded. I wanted the extra barrel length not only for performance, but also makes it a more quiet package.

I have one, and thought it performed as advertised on my 7PRC. Short, lightweight, and could shoot it all day without ear pro. Definitely tames and slows the recoil impulse down a good bit.

That said, it now lives on my 6.5CM and I purchased the new Meateater can. I put my 7PRC into a MDT HNT26, so with the lower weight, I wanted a bit more recoil reduction. The extra ounce or two and extra 1/4" of the Meateater were worth the trade off to me. Havent shot with the Meateater yet (or with the new MDT HNT26).

Here is a good comprehensive shootout with actual data for a lot of the cans on the market for research purposes.
