Ok, guys. After messing around with a Howa Mini in 6mm ARC, I’ve been itching for a 6mm creedmoor. I have a Remington 700 XCR Compact Tactical in .223 that I’ve never shot and just sits in my safe. I’m thinking of three ways to make the creedmoor happen (hense the thread title) and I’m trying to figure out the best spend of time and money. I have a good idea of the costs and I know the options are endless and based on my needs but I’m curious what you guys would do in my position.

Bang - Sell the XCR, buy a custom action and have someone build me a rifle with 18” fluted barrel, and Hnt26 chassis.

Marry - Use the XCR action as a donor action and have someone build out from there. I’ve reached out to Short Action Customs for both of the cases above because I’m a few miles from their shop.

Kill - Leave the custom idea behind completely and sell the Remington to fund part of the purchase of a Seekins Element M3. I’d like to use my OG-6s on the build and I have a concern about the carbon barrel. Jordan at Seekins has been super responsive so I’m going to ask him about this specifically. On the other hand, their chassis and the barrel swap system seems to be a future proof plan.

What do you guys think?

I was really looking forward to seeing some hilarious bang, marry, kill commentary when i opened this thread 😂 not going to lie i was a little disappointed

Agreed! I try to push these guys a little and nothing. Maybe it’s the FNG designation or I have to get more creative with my subject lines. On the flip side, always good info and I’m spending some time tonight looking at Mack Bros barreled actions. I might send them an email tomorrow to get some questions about barrel profile answered.

get a tikka 6 creed ordered- cut and thread @18in. Put in hnt26 chassis and you're good to go.
You'll have prefit options for days to "future proof" the build, same as a seekins.

Thats the easiest of easy buttons
