Ball chafing

When my son was old enough to start going on major pack trips with me, I told him there was three things to take care of on a week long hunt. Your feet, your arse, and your junk in exactly that order. Dry socks, wet wipes (dude wipes now), and performance underwear with a stick of something like body glide in your backpack.

there must be a lot of saggy balls on rokslide…
I was going to say. I have no idea what ball chafing is and I've never had it. I've done alot of 10+ mile days of hiking and never had ball issues.

I've gotten chafing on my thighs from 4 mile runs in the summer. But my balls must be TUFF.

Dr. Bronner's Castile soap really helps with chafing during summer training. Peppermint smell is also supposed to help repel bugs/ticks.

I forgot to add, I only wear synthetic, Under Armour type of boxer briefs anymore. How anyone could still wear cotton in hot weather perplexes me.

For a quick go, body glide, for a longer day Vaseline. For max protection for multiple days bag balm.Technically not that that kind of “bag” but that is what it’s called. And if you are already chafing and still need to be out for a week get desitin. This is from military training where chafing got bad enough to look like hamburger meat if you weren’t putting on something to help with chafing in the armpits, waist, groin, and thighs, and held up to being in salt water and sand.

It's funny this thread came up. In fact after church last Sunday, at the supper table I had discussion with my sons about options for prevention and the seriousness of ball chafing .I wish I would have some of this helpful info for "the talk"

I started using the 32 degree boxer briefs from CostCo. I don't see myself ever buying anything else.

Hopefully this doesn't turn into a $55 dollar underwear thread. (For those of you that missed that gem, stick a pencil in your eye it will be less painful)

Yeah gotta go synthetic or free ball. I havent worn cotton underwear in years, other than maybe around the house.
