Baited or blind sets?

I set more blind sets then I do baited set. I find it is easy to funnel down though ways. I trap mostly mink, rats and cats. I do cable a few Coyotes and fox on the farm. Do you like one set over the other.

I bait all of my sets. I have a hard time with snares but have friends that use them with great luck.

I trapped coyotes for a while and preferred blind sets to anything else. For every one I caught in baited sets I probably caught close to 5 in blind sets. They are simple and fast to make and have nothing to alert the animals. I would use different variations of them at times when I would get a problem coyote that was getting wise to baited sets, and majority of the time the blind set would seal the deal.

Baited sets but blind sets has there places. I also snare coyotes. I used to hate flat sets. Now I use a flat set a ton.

I trap coyotes on small patches of ground, where I know their routes and travel corridors. I usually have best luck with trail sets due to this.

It’s funny, if I’m not setting trail sets I’m doing scent posts or bone sets. I can’t get into a groove with dirt hole sets to save my life! Only sporadic success here and there with them.
