Bad vortex binos

Just got my vortex viper HD 10x42's in yesterday that I ordered straight from vortex and the lense on the left side of bino is either chipped or etched something? Here are some pics of it, anyone else had this issue with them? I have had 4 other close friends of mine have issues with vortex products and I guess I should have known better.

We all know the warranty is great but I don't think that makes it acceptable for a company to ship out bad gear off the bat. Should be sending in for warranty work after it has mechanically failed from hard use.

warranty dept. has a better reputation than quality control!

I believe that. I'm a little bent about it but not to bad knowing I'll get taken care of, it's just kind of one of those times you wanna shake your head and smack your forehead
