Don't read to much into the title but figured for what it's worth I'd share my experience. By no means am I bashing Lupy but not sure how something like this gets through their QC... Purchased a "like new demo" 3.6-18 MK5HD from Europtic along with some Seekins low 35mm rings and a MK machine 35mm billet bubble level for the scope. Upon receiving I was very excited to see it was brand new in the box (box had never been opened and was sealed in the original wrapping/plastic) "score" I thought to myself since I purchase it as a "like new demo" but it was brand new. Upon further inspection I notice a defect in the glass in the upper left quadrant of the reticle, almost like an etching that wasn't supposed to be there. The elevation turret also wouldn't rotate past 1 revolution and the magnification adjustment was gritty. I have several vx5's and 1 vx6 along with a 2 NX8s on various rifles and was excited to try to mk5 on my new Seekins element 7prc which is going to be a dedicated hunting rifle.
I thought I had done my research but upon further investigation it seems there are quite a few people that have issues with the MK5's. I opted to return it and go with another Nightforce which has never let me down in the past, a NX8 2.5-20X50 F2 Mil reticle. I just wanted to give a huge shout out to Europtic for having world class customer service and taking great care of me. I will never purchase another scope from anyone but them moving forward! Side note, if anybody wants a smoking deal on some Seekins low/0.95 35mm rings and a MK machine 35mm billet level give me a shout.
