Looking for opinions on best canister stove as well as a 1000ml approx pot. Prefer wider than tall on pot

I've got a cheap Coleman ultralight model that works just fine and I've had it for over 10 years (Amazon.com : Coleman Exponent F1 Ultralight Stove : Camping Stoves : Sports & Outdoors), but I'm looking hard at a Jetboil or MSR Windburner to take when I just need to heat water. I really like the idea of having a more secure connection between the canister and the pot to help avoid the pot sliding off (which has happened with my Coleman).

If you give us a better idea of seasons, terrain/altitude, and what you want to cook (just boiling water or actually cooking food) it will help the wiser among us provide you with a better answer.

Valid point Gorp. Yes I want more than just boiling water. Id like to be able to simmer and cook meals as well. Im normally backcountry and in 7k to 8k elevation. I currently have a jetboil minimo and just looking to see whatelsr is out there.

Have you considered the MSR windburner skillet? It's wider than taller and a over 1L in size.
