Looking for recommendations for a backpack for packing in my cold weather gear (coat, bibs) to my stand later in the season. It's hard to determine what size I need by looking at pictures online, anyone have any recommendations?

Check out the Mystery ranch pop up series. Smaller 28 might be all you need.
I’m currently running the Sitka apex pack I believe. Carries everything I need if I’m just sitting in a ground blind or a tree stand

Do you plan to store all gear and clothes inside the pack? Most packs you can easily strap clothes to the outside also. If you want everything inside the pack I would want probably around 3000ci or more. That is the size I have used in the past and still have ended up with clothes strapped to the outside sometimes in very cold weather it just depends how much you are carrying.

You can always make a bigger pack smaller but you can’t make a smaller pack bigger and the weight difference between bigger bags is not that much on most packs with different size options for the same frame.

I have a Kuiu venture 2300, and it will hold extra clothes and my parka on the inside, and I can strap my bibs on the outside.
I’ll also strap on my seat and shooting sticks.
My shortest walk to my stand is 1/2 mile and I’m pretty comfortable
Very happy with it

Depends on how much you carry, do you carry a stand, and do you carry a field processed deer out. I carry clothes, a climber, rifle, and field processed deer out with an EXO Mtn Gear K4 with a 2200 bag. It may be more than you need. Lots of folks run the MR Popups.

Thanks for the feedback. I have 1/2 mile walk to my stand on private property. Not packing in my stand or stix, just need something for my cold weather gear later in the season. I currently use a fanny pack for my essentials during early/mid season but found that I really need something to carry my cold weather gear to my stand so I don't sweat on the hike in and then freeze to death once I get there...

I checked out the Kuiu venture 2300 and it looks great, and maybe I am missing something, but I don't see any molle attachments for lashing stuff to the outside? Same with the Mystery Ranch... The treehouse 20 is in my price range but i don't see anywhere to lash my jacket or bibs to it like the treehouse 38...

The Kifaru Shape Charge looks promising but at $400 it is a bit out of my price range.

^^^ What he said. I've used the Venture 2300 the last three years and it holds everything that I need and has room for stuff I don't need. Not packing meat in it so no need for a frame pack.

I use the straps already on the outside to strap down anything that I carry on the outside, that’s what they’re there for.
In my opinion it doesn’t need Molle, it would be overkill.

You can pretty much use any pack you want for that. I used a Kifaru lumbar pack and carried all my cold weather gear and sticks about a mile in on public. Just strap them to the outside of the pack.

I use a Kifaru. x - Ray pack with no belt. For most hunts I have my kill kit in the bag, a saw for trimming branches, couple of grunt tubes, a linesman rope, rattling antlers and my bibs. It comes with a couple lashing straps and they work perfect for lashing my jacket to the pack.

I use a cheap ALPs pack for treestand hunting for exactly what you are describing. Like a 2500-2700 size that pop up on camo fire for well under $100. I can carry my bibs, coat, antlers, calls, hats, gloves, harness, bow hanger no problem.

Cheap comfortable and quiet!
