Backcountry spike camp cot

Anyone take a light weight cot with them to spike camp? I see Cory using a Peax cot on his last video

I used a Helinox for a few years. Absolutely awesome.
I ended up with that new 3” pad last year which was equally awesome.
Also got the Helinox high back chair so I had to ditch something…so the cot sat at home.
One benefit to a cot is that most your extra stuff can go underneath the cot.
And it makes a good anchor for your pillow to stay secured in place.

I can bust it out in a week when back in town.
A bear tore up my tent and i think put a tooth into the fabric, but can’t recall exactly.

Well I was mistaken. Cory is not using a Peax cot. I reached out to Peax and they do not make a cot. I'm not sure the brand he is using

I also use a pad on top of it. It adds more weight than is desired, but I sleep well.

Not me. More weight to drag around, especially if you need to move spike camp to get closer where the elk are. Just get a really good sleeping with decent cushioning and R-value.
I leave my cot back at basecamp. Who says elk hunting is suppose to be a comfortable backcountry experience, just kidding?

I use one motorcycle camping. Not an ultra light as it's not a big factor in my case
but I sleep on it almost as well as in my own bed.
I have a super light blow up amazon pad I put on it.
I'm old with lots of aches and pains. When I was younger I used to just scratch out the rocks ,
and throw down the sleeping bag on the UL thermarest.
Maybe that's why have a lot of aches and pains .

Moving to a lightweight cot was the best thing for my sleep in the mountains. It seems to remove all the little ground bumps and stuff that are present on the ground. I don't run a pad with it and seems just fine. In colder weather just run a wubby blanket under the bag works well. My cot is the Helinox Lite and have used quite extensively for 3 years now. It's nice to not have to blow up a pad and the one I used prior to the cot was quite noisy. Additionally, it is elevated just enough that bugs don't seem to be an issue like they can be on a pad. Would definitely recommend one.
