Backcountry hunts...pack extra socks and underwear?

With good merino socks and underwear, I can go 10 days without changing. Also use wet wipes and monkey butt powder after each dump to stay fresh.

I do keep an extra pair of socks with me that are slightly thicker than my daily hiking socks so they provide a bit extra warmth at night but still light enough that I can hike in them if my daily’s get wet.

I also break out a brand new pair each year for my hunt because they do lose their softness and plumpness over time.

Yes to both.

Socks? Because you need to take care of your feet. It’s pretty easy to rotate a nice pair wool of socks.

Underwear? You’re talking about 3 or 4 ounces at the most, negligible weight. Pretty much the same as far as sock rotation goes, if they’re wool you can just rinse them out in a stream and let them dry.

I don’t mind being dirty, and stinky. However, I’m not gonna get a rash on my butt if I can help it, and I will take care of my feet to best of my ability.
