Just make sure to have a plan B for a place to go incase the roads suck. My wife has a subaru, and we drive it everywhere here in Montana. The stock slick tires and lower clearance are what may get you in trouble. The tires in muddy Eastern Montana after a rain storm have almost got use stuck. Some roads are poorly rutted out. But theses are often branching forest service roads, not roads to main trailheads.
