Backcountry Hunting Chair

I have a crazy creek ultralight that doubles as a 3/4 sleeping pad. I like the comfort enough to not worry about the weight. Especially in the snow.

Alite monarch for me. It's nice to be able to take a load off after hiking all day. Don't remember how much it weighs tho

I really like my flex lite chair when glassing for 6-10 hours. Beats heck out of sitting on rocks and cactus.

I like the Alite Monarch too. Mine weighs 19.25 oz. The Z rest is also a nice option. I always take it with me.

Who actually uses one up in the mountains? If you do, is it used for camp only or does it come out to glassing spots with you?

Trying to decide if the weight is worth it or if a cc foam pad would be more practical?
I'm looking for a chair to use for glassing. I've had back surgery and can't sit with my back bent anymore. I need some support. Only way to hunt back country is to bring a chair with. It sucks, but it's my only choice.

I have a helinox chair one. I definitely don't take it on every hunt...but if packing in for 4 days or more having an actual chair to relax in while eating, or recovering in camp is nice. Also when stuck in camp due to stormy weather definitely makes for a more comfortable wait.

I take my Flexlite chair everytime when heading to the backcountry, and my open country mule deer hunts where glass is the word of the day

Crazy creek is a nice option. Doubles as extra padding/insulation under my inflatable. 24 oz., but the stays in it make it super comfortable. Nice to have back support and be able to lean back. Can be used in a tent and don't have to worry about a leg tearing your floor.

Mountainsmith makes a sling back chair, very similar to the Kifaru, but it’s only 25 bucks. It works with trekking poles instead of having dedicated poles. To me, it’s just too much of a pain in the ass for glassing, so I rarely use it. Half of an old Thermarest foam pad works great for me and is way more versatile and useful. The chair works best for summer camping trips sitting around the campfire or relaxing on the banks of a high mountain lake, it’s just too finicky to setup and use for glassing (at least for me)
