Trying to shake it but keeps coming back.

Want a silent or as quiet as possible subsonic 350 legend. Ruger American Ranch Rifle. Will start buying Hornady and Winchester subsonic ammo and then reload later. Think shooting coyotes out of chicken coop with neighbors.

Who has cracked this code and which suppressor do I need?

Take a look here:

If you scroll down toward the bottom, you will see "9mm CALIBER SUPPRESSORS SHOOTING CARTRIDGE/HOST: .300BO-16BA."

I compare all suppressors by SE dB or dBA, weight, length, and diameter. Every suppressor is a compromise of those factors. The PTR Vent 2 and FCA FX9 look interesting to me - those are the ones most worth further investigation. The PTR Vent 2 appears to be really quiet. It's probably the best option, unless it makes the rifle too long or too muzzle heavy compared with the FCA FX9. I would personally exclude the heaviest, longest, and fattest options, unless they are exceptionally quiet. For sound, I don't pay much attention to advantages of less than 2 db. Larger sample sizes or tests done on different days might well measure + or - 2 db.

I'm not too worried about the length/weight (within reason) as not planning to be carrying the rifle any significant distance for hunting.

R9 is a really good and extremely versatile can for this application and it's cheap. I haven't tried it but my Dead Air Mojave will work on a 350 legend too and I'm sure it'd be a bit quieter.

I really like the 375 AB Raptor. They were in stock last week at SS. Not the cheapest, but quiet, light.

Will work on any 35 cal rifle and they work decent on smaller bores as well. Ran one on a 6.5 cm and it worked well.

Why would a 300 BO suppressor test be relevant to 350 legend suppression?

The rounds are as opposite as possible. 300 is well known for its fantastic suppression capabilities, it was more or less designed for short barrel suppressed use.

Meanwhile, most throw a 9mm can on a 350 rifle because it passes the diameter of bullet and not much else beyond that.

OP, there’s some TBAC specific tests on 350 legend that they’ve shared. The fly 9 comes to mind and they tested a few others as well. It’s on YouTube.

I added a diligent defense DTF lti to use with my 16” howa. For hunting use it seems hearing safe.

It did not sound pleasant when I shot at my club’s range, with their carport style metal enclosure causing the sound to magnify at the ear.

There’s quite a few newer .36 cal cans on the market now that are worth a look.

Hux range 36, B&t verse print 36, griffin armament sportsman ultralight 36 just to name a few…

It’s relevant because they tested all those cans on the same day [or in the same time frame, with the same setup, with the same ammo types, indoors]. Just like all the .30 caliber cans that are tested with .308, but not with every possible round that could be fired through the can (e.g. every .30 caliber and below cartridge). When choosing between cans, understanding the relative values is important. Of course, if I had known there were test results with .350 Legend, I would have included those as well.

As for testing how it sounds by listening to it in a “carport style metal enclosure”, that just sounds deafening.

Edit - looking up the Fly 9 on the TBAC website, it does look very impressive for this purpose.

I went thru the youtube library and listened to the diff cans. A few made suppressed ammo sound quiet, which is what I want. The others reduced the noise but mouse fart is what i want - w factory suppressed ammo.

It’s never going to suppress like a 22 unfortunately.

Be mindful of comparing different youtubers or videos shot on different days. Some of it is unintentional but some of these guys are known to tweak audio or intentionally dub with the intentention of making these products sound better than they are.

As for coyotes around the coop. I'd be more concerned with big heavy slugs in an area that you're concerned about neighbors perceptions on shooting noise. Frankly I'd shoot something light, fast and frangible as I am more concerned with ricochet and chasing down the dead on the neighbors property.

Killing coyotes is righteous work. Be loud and proud (even suppressed).

Thanks for that.

Will not shooting towards other houses - never. The terrain is a bowl, so bullets will hit ground. I do wish could get a 125 gr 250 Legend. That could be loaded snappy.
