Back country tents

I've got a 15 year old REI Quarter Dome tent. I've slept in that tent 500 days over those 15 years. IMO for something that early in the season, you don't need these fancy tents that people rave about nowadays in the hunting space that cost several hundreds of dollars. Just get a two person (if it's just you) decently cheap backpacking tent that is lightweight.

I’m a big fan of Big Agnes Copper Spurs. I have the 1p and 2p. Difference is maybe 1/2lb.

I can make the 1p work fine but used the 2p on a MT hunt last year and think the size/weight was worth it. They are full free standing which is nice. I’ve had snow on two occasions and rain on most. It’s held up well.

Tarptent, Stone Glacier, Kuiu, Kifaru, Seek Outside, Argali
I use tarptent, but these are all pretty solid options I have used/seen.

For only a three day pack in trip I might take my old Tarptent Cloudburst. I now have a Hilleberg Niak that is the "best" and I may just carry the extra weight and not compromise.
