Greetings all! Just ran across this site while looking for some mountain goat hunting information, as my buddy drew a CO archery goat tag. We have never hunted them, so I was surfing the net to find any info I could and luckily I came across this site.
I live in Denver (grew up on a produce farm outside of Denver) and primarily bow hunt, but usually get a cow tag for rifle season and help along a couple of younger hunters in our hunting group - as well as have that sought after hunting camp camaraderie with my brothers, father and other buddies. My handle is a nickname my brothers gave me after I finished playing college football, but didn’t stop eating like I was playing. Oh well, one cannot choose a nickname and you have to laugh at yourself once in a while.
This site feels like home with the discussions of packing in, gadgets, strategies, gear, stories and on and on…
I’ve packed into the Flat Tops, Gunnison area, and a few other places for elk, but never hunted outside of Colorado. I am looking to contribute to the site as much as I can, as well as seek advice. One area of advice I will post sometime is what CO units to look at to use my 10PP’s for an archery deer tag. I have never seriously hunted deer with a bow, so I’ll be scanning the mule deer section and asking the other Rokslider’s their opinions, as it appears I have more than enough points to draw any non Ranching For Wildlife archery mule deer tag.
Good to be part of the site, Roman AKA Baby Huey
