Hey carl, which Aziak and which Tricer specifically? I'm looking at both, on paper the Tricer looks better to me but I keep seeing people saying they got rid of their Tricers in favor of their Aziak's.I like my Aziak lots better than my Tricer. It is more stable, the ball head is better, and the triangle shaped center post makes the Aziak much smaller when "stowed."
I haven’t tried anything bigger than a 65mm.Is the Aziak backcountry stable enough for a bigger 86mm spotter?
Being it's designed to pack in and my pack in spotter is 65mm that's comforting to know, but would like it to be able to hold my 86mm if I feel spry and pack it in insteadI haven’t tried anything bigger than a 65mm.
I’d say you “may be” pushing it without weight from the center column without a bit of jitter. But that’s a guess. Sure someone has tried it and will pipe in.
I would suggest stepping up to the front countryIs the Aziak backcountry stable enough for a bigger 86mm spotter?
Aziak Backcountry and Tricer BC. Here are some photos for comparison. I do think that the pan head on the Tricer is better, but the ball head on the Aziak with the side lock works great for me. I don't think I would shoot a bunch off of either. I will be listing the Tricer for sale with a bunch of other gear shortly.Hey carl, which Aziak and which Tricer specifically?
